Last.fm rant

last.fm - (a pretty cool service) is changing it's policy - outside of the us, uk and some other places it is going to start to charge. I am sure this has to do not with them but with the people who provide them their content (aka record labels) and i gotta say, i think it's amazing how hard this balance is:

i don't think we should all get something for nothing - but i feel older media (record labels, tv stations, etc) are a little to protectionist with their content.

on the other hand newspapers haven't been and they aren't doing much better either -

maybe there is no simple answer - i don't have one
